The work carried out

  The problem

This project consists of two parts: the renewal of stamped asphalt and the refurbishment of a public space. The first part involved stamped asphalt showing advanced wear, having been in service for more than 10 years since its installation. The second part involved a public space surfaced with Santo Domingo tiles. The tiles were in good condition, but lacked aesthetic appeal and their appearance did not reflect the way the space was being used.

  The solution

To refurbish the stamped asphalt, an economical system was chosen: our Byo Spot Slurry, which is quick to install, attractive and durable. It is the perfect system for a quick refurbishment to create a fresh, colourful appearance.

In the second phase, it was proposed to install the system over the tiles after reinforcing the surface with a fibre mesh.

Ultimately, the decision was made to remove the existing surfacing and install a float-finished concrete slab to serve as the base. The project supervision team chose our Zoruflex® continuo system for both its durability and its aesthetic qualities.

The final result was a seamless layer of natural grey granite protected with a sealer and free of joints for easy cleaning.
