The work carried out

  The problem

The work involved preparing the existing substrate (concrete slab) before applying the flooring. Some of the difficulties were:

  • Cost.
  • Excessive slopes.
  • Aesthetics

  The solution

The solution proposed to the architect in charge of the project (Gloria Luján) was to apply the preformed Zoruflex system. The main problem on this project arose from the steep slopes of the slab, which made laying rigid tiles unfeasible. Thanks to Zoruflex, it was possible to use a combination of preformed tiles that adapted perfectly to the surface and the desired aesthetic, with both the colour and the aggregate chosen by the Town Council. The Zoruflex system has test results demonstrating its high resistance to vehicular traffic (200 heavy vehicles/day), making it perfectly suited to the project's purpose: creating a market for pedestrian traffic. Finally, it should be emphasised that choosing this system made it possible to carry out the project within the approved timescales and budgets.
