Materials with recycled glass
At BYOND Canarias we manufacture resins and develop systems that incorporate recycled glass. It is part of Zoruflex, Byo Eco Estabilizado and Byo Eco Continuo Natural and our resin formulations, and is being developed further in ByoGlass for 3D printing. We are working to extend it to compatible applications and replace part of the virgin raw materials.
Recovered glass is crushed, washed and graded in our laboratory before it is incorporated into a formulation. It can then replace part of the virgin aggregates and raw materials in systems where it is technically compatible. The specific composition depends on each system and its use, and is set out in its documentation.
This research also led us to become waste managers and to connect material recovery with our laboratory and production.
Where we incorporate recycled glass
- Zoruflex
- Zoruflex formulations for seamless surfacing, preformed tiles and road safety incorporate recycled glass and are developed in our laboratory.
Discover Zoruflex - Resins made in-house
- We manufacture resins in the Canary Islands and incorporate recycled glass in our own formulations where it is technically compatible with the system and its use.
Resins and epoxy flooring - Byo Eco Estabilizado and Continuo Natural
- Both systems incorporate recycled glass. Estabilizado mixes the binder with local aggregate; Continuo Natural creates a continuous surface over a prepared substrate.
Explore both systems - ByoGlass, under development
- ByoGlass is our material under development for 3D printing. Its formulation incorporates recycled glass and volcanic ash to reduce the amount of cement needed and replace virgin aggregates with reused materials.
